Write a Postcard
Imagine you are on your vacation somewhere in Vietnam or abroad. Write an informal postcard to your family or friends about your vacation. It mays begin as the following:
Dear Mom,
We are having a great time here in_________________________________
Pre-writing:
When writing a postcard, you should pay attention to the following things:
- Write the place where you are on your vacation.
- Write how you feel about the people there: friendly, hospitable, helpful, etc.
- Write what the weather is like there: warm, cold, windy, sunny, etc.
- Write what you do there: swimming, sightseeing, ski-ing, etc.
- Write what you see: museums, libraries, parks, zoos, etc.
- Write what you buy: souvenirs, books, photos, postcards, etc.
Note:
- Use the present progressive tense to describe what you are doing.
- Your postcard can be as short as you like.
- Even if you are having a terrible time,don't complain in your postcard.
Example
Hi (name of friend / neighbour / colleague),
We are having a great / wonderful / fantastic / fabulous time here in ……
The weather is hot / sunny / perfect and we are spending our days on the beach / sightseeing / relaxing / exploring the local area / by the pool.
The food is interesting / spicy / pretty good and the other people here are (nationality), friendly / unfriendly / great.
I have bought some books for you.
